History


Trnava town situated on a large fertile lowland of south-west Slovakia is undoubtedly considered as cradle of the Slovak malting industry. The first references to a malt house in Trnava date till the year 1395 when one of five town gates was named as "Malting Gate". Trnava Malt House was founded in the year 1893 by Mr. Treumann. The first production line were underground malting floors with a capacity of approximately 4,000 MT per year.

  


In 1962 a new line was built - "New Malting Floors" with a capacity of approximately 8,000 MT per year. In 1967 the first pneumatic malting plant was introduced - the line "Moving Mass" (Posuvná hromada in Slovak) with a capacity approximately 15,000 MT per year. The last line introduced to the operation was a modern line "Lausmann" in the year 1995 with a capacity of approximately 18,000 MT per year.
